Project Timeline

Timeline is usually one of the bigger concerns when starting a remodel project, especially if there is a hard deadline for a special event, school starting, or family visiting. While all contractors do everything in their power to keep to the projected timeline, there is usually something that comes up. Generally, 87% of construction projects experience some kind of delay. Your contractor wants to stick to the timeline as much as you do. If there is any kind of hold-up, then your contractor must see if they built it enough time for the inconvenience or if they need to contact all their subcontractors to see if they are flexible with the new timeline. Also, the more a contractor knows about your home, the less likely there are to be any delays when it comes to major issues such as structural, electrical, plumbing and HVAC. When something that might set you back for a couple of days or possibly up to a week is more of a minor delay. This will happen so don’t worry too much about it. If you have good communication with your contractor, you shouldn’t have anything to worry about. However, it is always good to have a contingency plan when it comes to things such as products and materials. If the flooring you want is on back order for the next two months, you want to have an alternative. If your granite countertops are stuck in customs, you might never know when they will be available. A good contractor should always provide you with a list of subcontractors that will lead you in the right direction and ensure your project is completed on time.
